We had a three day weekend this last weekend. The girls didn't have daycare and we didn't have to go to work. We just hung out at home most of the weekend. We did go to the Zoo on Monday. The pictures include Mike and Alyssa at the Zoo and Katelyn hamming it up at the Zoo. Its nice to have a year round pass. Even though its cold as heck outside, we can still go to the Zoo for 45 minutes and not feel like we have wasted a bunch of money. The Zoo was pretty much deserted. We managed to see a parokeet training session -- I thought it was fun to watch, but the girls lost interest pretty quick.
This weekend we have "Sounds Like Fun" with the Boise Philharmonic. We went two weekends ago for percusions which was great. This weekend they are doing strings. It should be good, but I don't know how you compete with the drums. Katelyn went to this series last year and Mike and I alternated taking her. This year we decided to buy a family pass so Mike and I are taking Alyssa and Katelyn. We could actually take two more kids with the family pass and I thought about inviting one of Katelyn's friends to come with us, but we don't have a car that can hold three kids (actually its just that it can't hold three car seats) -- I guess its a good thing we are only having two!
We took Alyssa in to get her hair cut again tonight. She LOVED the pink princess SUV she got to drive while they cut her hair. They also had Curious George playing on the DVD player and we had just given her Chocolate Teddy Grahams -- the girl was happy. She wasn't so happy with Daddy when he pulled her out of her car. She can really deliver a "No" when she wants to. The stylist put glitter in both girls hair, so we will have that around the house for about two weeks and it will probably take that long to get it off their scalps as well -- O-well, they were very happy!
My big news is that I joined the Biggest Loser (Courthouse Edition) that one of the guys at work put together. We all (about 35 of us) put in $10.00. We joined in groups, so half the money goes to the individual winner and 1/2 to the group winner. Its based on body fat percentage, so the fact that I have ALOT to lose won't really help me. It starts this week and ends on May 22. Hopefully it will help kick start the weight loss. I haven't really felt motivated in a long time and I'm not really happy where that has gotten me, so maybe this will help. We have been trying to be good the last few weeks with planning meals and eating healthier. I've already lost a few pounds, but its a drop in a rather big bucket. So I think I'm going to have to embrace early morning workouts when little people are asleep -- ugg! Thats about all I have to report. Hope everyone saw the inauguration. I know I did and I'm pretty excited to have such a dynamic speaker as president -- a real change from the last few years (and that goes beyond GWB).

Great shots. Yeah, I bet a year pass at the Zoo is nice. You don't have to feel like you have to squeeze every penny out of every visit - especially on the cold days.
OK -- I give, who is "The Owner"?
"The Owner" is David Young.
:-)
I would think with your three little ones that you would have invested in a pass as well -- they are only $54.00 or something like that for the whole year. Great way to get the kids outside, walk around and spend some time together.
