Katelyn got a new bed set this weekend. We have been looking for a set for Katelyn for a few years and we have been looking for something for Alyssa for a few months. Mike's Dad is an avid auction goer and spotted an ADORABLE disney princess twin bed set at the Saturday auction last weekend. We were all set to go bid on it last weekend until a fire in the building right next to the auction caused them to close. So, we were postponed a weekend from going and trying to acquire it. This weekend the auction reopened and they had two twin bedsets. One was a white trundle daybed twin set and then the cute disney princess set. I had hoped to come home with two bedsets, but we ended up only getting the trundle bed. As you can see from the pictures - Katelyn is thrilled. The disney set sold for $875 -- too much for us to pay, but still a decent deal for the guy who got it since it retails new at $1400.
Katelyn is excited about having friends (aka Holden) over for a sleepover. Now that she has an extra bed in her room, I think we are ready to give it a try!
And Alyssa ended up getting Katelyn's hodgepodge bedroom set. (Katelyn was a little upset to give up her mirrored dresser, but overall she is pretty happy with the trade). Both girls got new bedding - Katelyn picked Barbie and Alyssa picked Dora.
Mike and I moved all the furniture out of the rooms, vacumed, washed down baseboards, steam cleaned carpets, did some touch up paint on the furniture and moved everything back in the rooms today. I'm beat!
