Mike is back!

Thank goodness Mike is back home. He was gone for a week in San Diego for an ESRI conference (or something like that). Mike's mom stayed with me to help with the girls, which was helpful, but its not quite the same as having another parent around. Both girls were a little more clingy then usual and I heard "I miss Daddy" alot from Katelyn (and if Alyssa could talk I'm fairly certain I would have heard it from her even more frequently). Anyway, he is back now and it is such a relief. We took the girls to the zoo today and met up with some friends. The top pictures is Katelyn and her best friend Holden pretending to be birds in a nest at the zoo.

And this picture is Mike and Alyssa waiting for Katelyn and Holden to get off the carausel at the zoo. It was a pretty good day.
My mom came down to visit unexpectedly. She showed up on Thursday and left this morning. While she was here she lined Alyssa's curtains with some black out material, so we got to take down the dark purple towels we had safety pinned up on her curtains -- it wasn't pretty but at least it blocked out some of the sun and helped her sleep. Now her room looks alot better and its darker and easier for her to sleep. All that is left is to have Mike install the tie backs I bought about a year a half ago and we will be done with Alyssa's curtains :) One of many honey do projects at the house - we still haven't recovered from Kita's 4th of July antics.
