We had a good time this last weekend. Katelyn and Alyssa participated in an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday in my cousin's neighborhood and they had a great time.
It started at 9:30 in the morning, so there was still dew on the ground and although we hyped up the easter egg event, it only took Alyssa grabbing one egg to say "Cold" and "Wet" and pretty much flatly refuse to pick up any others. Instead she would point to the one she wanted and say something like "green" or "blue" like am imperial command to fetch (and of course mommy obeyed). Towards the end we ran across a few eggs with some pretty designs and she actually picked those up herself.
Katelyn was with Daddy in the bigger kid section and she managed to pick up several eggs, a small stuffed bunny and some bubbles. She was pretty thrilled with her haul.
Then we had soccer and by the time we got home Alyssa had crashed and Katelyn went to her room to rest. What this normally means is that Mike and I have about half an hour of quiet time. So I laid down to rest for a few minutes, not expecting to really fall asleep, and, about three hours later, Alyssa woke up! I couldn't believe it. I got to take a pretty long nap -- that hasn't happened in A LONG TIME!
The top pictures of the girls are on Easter Sunday in their new dresses from Grandma and Grandpa Lich (Alyssa is jumping -- that Easter sugar at work!). The girls got dressed up and even I wore a dress. In fact, when Alyssa saw me she said "Mommy pretty dress." I thanked her of course and told her she was going to wear her pretty dress too and so was Sissy. Then she looked at Daddy and said "Daddy pretty dress too?" Mike didn't think that was funny, but I started laughing! He told her boys don't wear dresses (a little bit of an overstatement, but whatever). Anyway, she got a little insistent that Daddy should wear a pretty dress too. I wouldn't call it a fit, but it came close.
After the dressing drama was done, we went to my cousin's house again for Easter brunch. She made a yummy casserole. We had lots of fresh fruit and muffins and croissants. It was great but of course the scale didn't really agree with that assessment (I didn't overindulge in the fruit obviously). I don't like it when the numbers climb, they are supposed to be going down!
And the girls got their hair cut last week. I've included a before and after picture of Katelyn so you can see the difference in Katelyn's hair. I think we cut off about four inches. It will be good for the summer and I haven't had as many arguments about brushing her hair -- on the down side, I think we got rid of most of her curls.
In addition to Easter and haircuts. Katelyn had a dentist appointment today and she has two cavaties in between her back molars, so they are going to have to numb her and do some fillings. We also need to make sure she starts flossing. We have only randomly had her floss and I guess thats not good enough!
I hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Oh, that part about Alyssa saying "Cold" and "Wet" and not wanting to pick up any more eggs made me laugh. And then your description of her pointing and saying things "like am imperial command to fetch" made me laugh even harder. That was awesome.
We had a good Easter, too. Thanks for sharing yours.
I love her new haircut..
