Shhh...Its a secret!

I AM TAKING KATELYN TO DISNEY WORLD IN JUNE!!! We have decided not to tell her until it gets a little closer (like about a week, maybe day, before). I don't think I could handle the constant questions and excitement for longer then that! But she is going to have such a good time. We are tagging along with my mom and her husband and their two other granddaughters (teenagers, so Katelyn and I will probably be doing alot of stuff on our own). The airfare right now is a steal and Mom got some good prices on hotel rooms, so thats how we decided to spend our tax return :)

Now for those of you that might be feeling bad for Mike because he isn't going -- don't! He doesn't really want to go (although he will be going to Disneyland with the family when Alyssa turns five whether he likes it or not!) and he got something out of the deal too -- he got to buy an AR (I don't remember what that stands for -- semi-automatic riffle? -- or something like that). He already has his toy (he claims its a tool!) and has gone out to shoot it too. He is one happy camper without going to the most magical place on earth.

As for Katelyn and I, I have a reservation at a princess breakfast for the first morning we are there. Then I'm not sure what the gameplan is going to be. I need to figure out how to prevent motion sickness since I am going to have to take her on most of the rides. I don't really want to take dramamean since it makes me drowsy. I might need to look into one of those bracelets or the patch thing that goes behind your ear. If anyone has any good suggestions, please pass them along.

I tried to upload a video of Katelyn at soccer. It shows her excellent goalie skills (note that she and several other kids are standing inside the net -- I guess that is one way to keep the ball from going in -- no room!) But Mike also caught her scoring one of the goals that she scored - on an undefended net, but it still counts! Its fun to watch the scrimages. She isn't on a team that has real games yet. I think that comes next year. But then that will require practices too and I'm not sure I can handle two practices a week, gymnastics and then games on Saturdays (plus I wanted to introduce her to ballet and find out if she is interested in that). Something will have to give but right now I'm not sure what.

This is Alyssa at the game. It was pretty windy, but at least it was sunny! Alyssa is doing great lately. She is healthy for once (knock on wood) and she is going down for bed alot easier. We put a pillow in her crib and she has gone to bed awake and without fussing for the last week or more. We are thinking about transitioning her to a toddler bed soon but that might be pushing our luck.

No much else to report. Mike got his 42 inch HDTV for his birthday and he decided to put it in the bedroom. I know, I know -- its seems a bit extreme to have that big of a TV in a bedroom, but Mike correctly noted that is where we watch all our TV when we actually watch TV, so I agreed. The picture quality on the HD stuff is really good, even I can tell the difference and I'm not that in to that stuff.

This last week was the half way point for the biggest loser challenge at work so we were all required to weigh in. I have done ok so far. I'm down about 10% of my body fat, so I guess thats good. It would be nice if it were closer to 50%, but I guess every little bit helps!

Time for bed! Night all!
