Disney World

Sorry its been so long since I posted anything...things have been crazy since we got back from DisneyWorld (the subject of future posts). DisneyWorld was great! We told Katelyn about it the day before we left -- She didn't really get it, which was probably for the best since she actually slept that night. She got a little more excited about the trip once we were heading to the airport. Although the all day trip was a little much for her. She didn't expect to still be in the air when the sun went down.

The first day we went to Epcot and had our princess breakfast. We got to meet Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurura.

Katelyn was pretty excited about meeting the princesses.

I think Snow White probably did the best with her role. She talked about all her little forest friends and Katelyn really enjoyed meeting her.

But all of the characters did a great job.

Katelyn's favorite princess is Aurora. When I booked the breakfast, they couldn't guarantee any of the princesses being present so I was happy to see Aurora (as it is, we ended up seeing Aurora in the park too --in France)

The breakfast comes with a free photo with the princess, but you don't get to pick which one (if you did Katelyn would have picked Aurora). I don't know if its Belle everytime - but it was Belle this time.

We saw a few of the princesses around the park too (Aurora, Belle and Snow White at least) but the only one Katelyn wanted to stop and meet again was Aurora.

We met Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco.

Mulan in China (of course).

We met Pocahontas in the Animal Kingdom.

Katelyn enjoyed the magic kingdom as well.

We met all the traditional characters too. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Dale, Lilo & Stitch, Rafiki, etc. I don't have the time to add all the pictures to the blog. Katelyn ended up filling one full autograph book and about 2/3rds of another.

She also met Alice and the White Rabbit -- but she wasn't as familiar with them as most of the other characters

We hit the parks early in the mornings because it was so dang hot (some of the native Floridians I talked to on the plane home said we had August weather in June -- oh joy!). We stayed at the Magic Kingdom one night to see the light parade. This picture of Katelyn is one of my favorites. Even though she was really hot, she was in a pretty good mood waiting to see the parade. We actually stayed up until 1:00 am

We met the fairies too -- Tinker Bell, Silvermist and Fawn. Katelyn was a little disappointed because she didn't get to meet Iridessa (the light fairy -- her favorite). She did get to see her. We were next in line when they had a cast change. Iridessa poked her head out of the room and waved at us on her way out. We don't have any pictures with her, but it helped that Katelyn at least got to see her.

And she met Handy Manny and several of the little einsteins. She really enjoyed the shows at Hollywood Studios.

We went to see Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney, etc.

We also went to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping -- Katelyn got a tattoo with all the princesses (and Aladdin noticed it the next day when we met him and he pointed it out to Jasmine since she was on Katelyn's arm.)

Katelyn enjoyed a ton of rides I didn't expect her too and then freaked out on some that surprised me. She really enjoyed Splash Mountain, the Test Track, and Soarin' -- all rides that were fast. But put her in the dark and she freaked out -- she was upset with me for taking her to the haunted mansion (I remembered it being kind of funny -- not scary), Honey I shrunk the audience, the Viking ride, and she wasn't really thrilled about Peter Pan's adventure either. Even though you can see she is screaming in this picture of us on the test track, she wanted to go do it again.

She enjoyed its a small world -- we went on it twice. She didn't really enjoy the winnie the pooh ride -- but it was kind of lame so I can't blame her.

Overall we had a great time. Katelyn was exhausted by the time we got home and so was I. We typically left the parks by 2:00pm, but we went back to the hotel and went swimming. She played hard! I think the next time we tell her we are taking her to Disney World or Disneyland, she is going to freak out - she will understand how much fun she will have.

Great post. Sounds like a really cool trip. I'm sure Katelyn will never forget it. Way to go, Mom.

All those photos you posted were great. But the one of you guys on the Test Track where you're both freaking out was hilarious.
