Katelyn and I went to Pocatello the weekend after mother's day for Brittany's wedding. I was just going to make it an up and back trip, but I decided at the last minute to be realistic regarding my inability to drive that trip at night after having driven down there that day, so I used Priceline for the first time in my life and got a pretty good deal on a hotel in Pocatello. Katelyn was thrilled, she got to meet and play with her cousins and, since I booked a hotel with a pool, she got to go swimming after the wedding even though it was close to 9:00pm. This is a picture of Katelyn with Evelyn and Savannah:
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of Katelyn with the beautiful bride but Katelyn loved the fact that Brittany danced with her. She has asked when Brittany is going to come visit us again (hint hint Britt). :)
The weekend after that, I took off for Seattle to visit Bree and meet Christopher. He is pretty stinkin' cute and one of the best babies I've had the pleasure to be around:

We didn't do much, just hung out at home and held him. I did a little bit of cooking and cleaning while I was there, but Bree and Nick pretty much had everything under control. I'm glad I got to help a little. BUT even though Christopher is a very good baby, I was exhausted by the time I got back home (it didn't help that my plane was a few hours late - getting into Boise closer to midnight than I liked).
Then the next weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we packed up the car and headed over to Sumpter, Oregon to hang out with Grandpa Hickok and Grandma Kris. The girls always have such a great time up there.

It was a little rainy, but we managed to get in one campfire and some smores, so the kids were thrilled. Katelyn is looking forward to going back soon. There was some talk about Grandpa and Katelyn making a bird feeder together (they make some beautiful feeders that they sell at the flea market) which means she needs to go shopping with Kris to pick out her glass to make the feeder and either hang out with them in Eagle or head back up to Sumpter with them to put it together. Either way, I think she is excited and ready and she has asked at least once when she gets to do it.
By the end of May, the girls finished up spring soccer and Alyssa finished gymnastics. They are both enrolled to start Soccer again in the fall. This next season Alyssa gets to play on a team, so we will see how that works with practices and decide if she starts gymnastics again or not. She has asked to do it, so if it works in the schedule, I'll probably enroll her again.

And the last two weeks we have had swim lessons four nights a week, so by the time Friday comes around I'm exhausted. I tried to upload a video, but I got a couple error messages and I'm giving up.
Although Alyssa had swim lessons last night, I had Katelyn skip swimming and we went to see Mamma Mia the musical instead. Katelyn really enjoyed herself, but it turns out she was sick. By the time we got home she had 101.7 degree fever. Luckily it was short lived. By this evening it was completely gone, but she got to stay home with Daddy today and veg in front of the TV. And she is still congested.
And Grandma and Grandpa Perker are visiting. They got here last weekend, and they are going to stick around for father's day. So I'll actually be with my Dad on Fathers Day, that hasn't happened in a long time - pretty cool!
Oh - I almost forgot (and can't believe I did). We bought a camp trailer last weekend too. Its a bunkhouse, so the kids have beds and Mike and I will have a bed too. Its used, about eight years old, but in pretty good shape. Mike is excited to try it out, but with vacation plans in July already set, we might not get to do that until August. He is pushing for the fourth of July weekend for our maiden voyage in it, but I'm not sure I want to fight the crowds and we really should use that weekend to get organized and ready for our Montana trip the following weekend.
I think that just about catches everyone up on my life. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as we are!
