Spring Soccer

Oh the joys of spring soccer . . . freezing cold, windy, rainy . . . whoever thought of playing an outdoor sport in mid-March to early April needs to have their head examined.  You can tell Alyssa is thrilled to be out on the field along with three of her teammates (we were in white, not that you can tell from the picture - Alyssa is the one in purple):

But on the fun side of having hail, snow, and rain in early April, we got to experience all that wonderful weather while in a hot pool this last Sunday.  The girls and I went to an outdoor hotsprings about two hours from our house.  The road to get there after turning off the highway was one big mud bog, so I put the four wheel drive in the new rig to the test (I had mud up to the windows by the time we were done).  I barely got through one part on the road and while we were up there a regular front wheel drive car tried to get through that same area and got stuck.  They ended up having to call a tow truck to get them out.  I was relieved that the tow truck driver was there when we left (just in case I got stuck as well).  We didn't end up needing his services, but it was nice to know that I wouldn't of had to wait if we did.
