Pumpkin Patch

We have our pumpkins! Katelyn actually got to go to the pumpkin patch twice. Once with her class and once with Mom, Grandma and Alyssa (Daddy was up hunting). This picture of Katelyn is her with her first pumpkin -- the second one was so big she couldn't lift it, so I will have to get a picture of her sitting by it after we carve it! The first picture of Alyssa is her with her pumpkin. She enjoyed the Hay ride until it kept stopping all over the farm. Every time it stopped she wanted to get up, so that got old pretty quick. But she enjoyed pointing out the pumpkins all over the farm. Alyssa didn't really understand about picking out a pumpkin, so eventually Grandma and I picked one for her. She held it for about a minute (long enough for me to snap the picture below) and then she handed it right back to us. BUT she does know that she has a pumpkin and its very important to her. I just don't think we needed to go to the farm with her this year. That part of it was a little lost on her. And taking the kids there on the weekend was a bit of a madhouse! It was the equivalent of fair parking or christmas mall parking at a farm -- CRAZY! We did eventually find a spot, so all is well that ends well.

The pumpkin Alyssa is resting against in the bottom picture isn't her pumpkin, it was planted on a hay bail for photo ops -- who am I to resist a cute picture?
