Alyssa chillin', watchin' TV -- remote in hand! She is her father's daughter! (She is also pretty dang stubborn and refused to wear her glasses, so I guess she is her Mommy's daughter too!)
Whats new? Not much, pretty much same old stuff. Alyssa is sick and she shared it with me. This one was a pretty bad head cold. Everything oozed! She had a runny nose, goopy eyes and then Wednesday morning she had so much discharge out of her ears that I had to cut the stuff out of her hair with scissors (it was like gum). The good news was that the girls had a ear doctor visit scheduled for that day anyway for a well patient check up. So the ear doctor cleaned out Alyssa's ears, checked on her tubes, said they were fine and that they were working great letting all that crap leak out that would normally have built up inside her ear and made her miserable. She is on antibiotic ear drops, but so far no need for anything else. Alyssa's class has a confirmed case of croup as well, we are hoping that one just passes us by but we shall see.
The ear doctor also checked on Katelyn's tubes which are still in place. Normally that would be a good thing, but they only like them to stay in for about three years and Katelyn's had her tubes a little over three. Most kids lose their tubes on their own. Of course, my daughter has to be the exception. So, we have surgery scheduled for Monday, March 23rd to remove Katelyn's tubes.
Thats about all for now, I'm heading to bed -- trying to get rid of this head cold.

Colds, croup, surgery, tubes . . . no fun. This may sound strange but it's good that you are taking the time to record some of these memories, even if they're not fun. Your kids will thank you some day. (We still don't even have a video camera!)
Hang in there.
