March Madness

No, I'm not dedicating this post to basketball. I'm dedicating it to the craziness that is one week of March for my family -- we have sooo many birthdays to celebrate and recognize its not even funny! And I haven't done that great a job of getting cards in the mail -- sorry to those of you that includes. First my husband's and nephew's birthday, same day. Then two days later my Mom and my aunt's birthday, same day. Then three days later my cousin's daughter's birthday then the next day my mother in law's birthday! I am typing as I'm waiting for a cherry pie to bake and I just got done making the enchiladas and cornbread that we are having for my mother in law's birthday dinner tomorrow. Mike requested lasagna for his dinner (which we have almost finished off).

Katelyn before her surgery (on the left) -- they just gave her that tiara/crown/headband...she was thrilled.

Katelyn after the surgery (on the right).

Katelyn's surgery went smoothly. She was in and out in no time. She woke up from the anastesia groggy but happy (much better than her little sister when she got her tubes put in...man was she ticked when she woke up!). We went out to breakfast, which she requested at first, but by the time we got to the restaurant she just wanted to go home and rest. We ate really fast (Katelyn eating about a bite of everything on her plate and being done) and then came home to rest. She laid down for about half an hour and then she was ready to go. We watched Madagascar 2 and then made some play dough.

It was supposed to be just Katelyn and I yesterday but about the time we started play dough, the school called to send Alyssa home. She had a temperature and wasn't herself. So Mike picked her up, brought her home and dropped her off. So it ended up being Katelyn, Alyssa and I for the afternoon. I took Alyssa to the doctor and we got her on antibiotics (in case she had the same sinus infection I had which was awful!). But its possible that she just has a lingering cold from the beginning of March and then has gotten something else on top of it. I hope that is not the case, but only time will tell.

You're a good mom, Suzanne. Some day the girls will thank you. :-)

When I first read the quote, I thought you were going to point out the grammatical error in my sentence. :)
